Botox Cosmetic and Dysport are different prescription botulinum toxin products. A licensed, trained clinician can discuss which options, if any, are appropriate for your circumstances and treatment area. Product units are not interchangeable; do not use a fixed conversion to decide your own dose.
Ask about the specific product
Ask your provider for the product name, intended treatment area, expected benefits, limitations, risks and alternatives. Both products carry boxed warnings and have product-specific instructions. Read the current Botox Cosmetic prescribing information and Dysport prescribing information, and discuss questions with your clinician.
Compare complete quotes
A lower price per unit does not necessarily mean a lower total. Ask for a product-specific written estimate, including the proposed area, estimated units if known, fees, eligibility conditions and possible follow-up charges. The clinician determines the appropriate dose after evaluation; individual plans differ.
See our quote comparison checklist, Botox cost guide and Dysport cost guide. Published price-list observations are dated and are not current price guarantees.
Check the provider and setting
Ask who will evaluate and treat you, what training they have, how the clinic responds to complications and whom to contact afterward. The American Academy of Dermatology provides questions to bring to your consultation. See our med spa safety checklist.
